CALL FOR ABSTRACTS!

Abstract Submission Deadline: December 15, 2019

The PUCC program committee invites you to submit research abstracts for the poster presentation session taking place during the 6th Annual Pediatric Urgent Care Conference (PUCC), February 4 – 7, 2020 in Los Angeles, CA. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your knowledge, research, and experience with colleagues in the burgeoning pediatric urgent care community.

Abstract topics must be relevant to the field of pediatric urgent care medicine and may cover such diverse areas as diagnosis/management of acute pediatric illness or injury, evidence-based practice, innovative teaching/training programs, healthcare policy/delivery models, studies of patient satisfaction, and process improvement projects.

Awards for outstanding posters will be presented at the conference.

General Submission Requirements

Format

Abstracts should be a maximum length of 400 words. The format must follow the abstract submission templates shown below.

Submission Process

  1. Email all abstract submissions in PDF format to pucc@pmpediatrics.com.
  2. Two copies of the abstract must be submitted:
  3. The first copy should have the original abstract with all author and institutional information.
  4. The second copy should have the author(s) name(s) and institutional information removed. This deidentified abstract will be distributed to the review panel for anonymous review.

Abstract Review Process

  1. Topics must be relevant to the field of pediatric urgent care medicine.
  2. Abstract must comply with submission and formatting criteria for review. Please see abstract submission templates below.
  3. Abstracts will be distributed to the abstract committee in a blind author format.
  4. If based on a project or program, the implementation and outcome phase must be completed.

Note: If your abstract is accepted, we expect that at least one of the authors will attend the poster session at the conference. Remember, awards for outstanding posters will be presented at the conference!

Purpose: What was the intent/goal of the project? What problem was addressed by the evidence-based solution or process improvement solution?

Description: What was the evidence-based or process improvement solution? How was it developed

and implemented? Cite the research for the best practice solution based on literature review, your

own clinical expertise, or need to change a process to improve practice. Do not submit an actual

reference/bibliography list.

Evaluation and outcomes: What were the outcomes of the project? How was success measured?
